| Updated April 19, 2009 Lisa Weinshrott and Michael L. Kimmel have been designing lights together for almost eight years and have recently become one of the very few co-designing married couples. With their company, Sharp Edge Lighting Design, they design across the country for a wide range of events including Off-Broadway: Growing Up 70’s. NYMF (37 Arts): Sophia’s Fall. Nevada Ballet Theatre: East Meets West (With Seoul Ballet Theatre), A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Westfield High School: Jesus Christ Superstar (Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Best Lighting), Evita, Children of Eden (both nom. Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star), Laramie Project, My Sister Eileen. Society of Seven: several concerts from Hawaii to Florida. National Tours: Urban Cowboy, Unsinkable Molly Brown, Ain’t Misbehavin’ (Dir. Ken Page). They designed the lighting for their own wedding reception, and other events, including a Halloween Party in a 5th Avenue apartment in NYC. Other credits include: NJPAC, House of Blues - Atlantic City, five seasons at Heartland Theater Festival, Spirit of Broadway Therter, Opera Idaho, Peterborough Players, Surflight Theater, Harrison (NY) High School. In October, 2008, they received Apollo Design’s Standing O award. Lisa and Michael both received their MFA’s from Univ. of Missouri, Kansas City where credits include Black Snow, The Marriage of Figaro, The Mikado, Anything Goes, The Importance of Being Earnest, Bach Aria Soloists and several dance pieces, including two premiere concerts for Kacico Dance. NYC credits include: several shows for Turtle Shell Productions, Career Day on Broadway, Ogres, Trolls and Dragonwings. Assistant design credits include the International Homebuilders’ Show in Orlando, Kansas City Lyric Opera, Kansas City Rep, Indianapolis Opera, Sacramento Opera, and NJPAC. Lisa is also an AEA Stage Manager. |
